William H. "Bill" Goodwin, 61, of Lincoln, NE died Friday, January 1, 2021, at his home. Mass of Christian burial will be Friday, January 8, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. The Rev. Martin L. Egging will be the celebrant. Mr. Goodwin will be cremated following the funeral mass. Private family inurnment will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be Thursday, January 7, 2021, from 4 – 6 p.m. with a vigil service at 6 p.m. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. CDC recommended guidelines will be followed and face masks are required. The funeral mass will be livestreamed on Curran Funeral Chapel's Facebook page. Memorials are suggested to the family for designation at a later date. Curran Funeral Chapel is assisting the family.
Bill was born September 22, 1959, at Grand Island, NE. He was the son of Albert and Bonnie (Dubbs) Goodwin Sr.

Brothers, Larry Goodwin of Cairo, NE
Albert (Dot) Goodwin Jr. of North Platte, NE
Sister, Susan Rolfsmeyer of Kearney, NE
He will also be missed by his nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Bill grew up five miles west of Cairo on the family farm. He began his education at District 58, later graduating from Centura High School in 1978. He continued his education at Central Technical Community College in Hastings, studying Agricultural. While attending school he worked in maintenance at CTCC and also farmed property that CTCC used in their agricultural program. Bill completed his Associate Degree at CTCC and pursued his Bachelor Degree in Horticulture at Chadron State College. Bill worked on several ranches while attending Chadron. He moved to Lincoln, NE to complete his Master Degree in Horticulture at UNL. While in Lincoln he worked production at Molex Company and managed a McDonald's. Bill owned and operated B&D Greenhouse and was known as the "plant doctor" sharing his knowledge and love of plants to individuals and commercial businesses alike.
Bill was an avid racquetball player in his youth and he enjoyed line dancing and was a dance instructor. He traveled the back roads of south central and south east Nebraska and knew them like the back of his hand.
Bill was preceded in death by his father.
Memorials are suggested to the family for designation at a later date.
