Obituary
William C. "Bill" Gerbig, 55, of Grand Island died suddenly at his home on January 13, 2021. Mr. Gerbig's wish was to be cremated. Bill's life will be celebrated at a later date. Curran Funeral Chapel is assisting the family. Memorials are suggested to the family for designation at a later date. Bill was born July 31, 1965, in Grand Island, NE. He was the son of William L. and Virginia L. (Sorensen) Gerbig. Bill grew up in Grand Island where he attended Grand Island Sr. High School. After his schooling Bill worked construction for several businesses and area contractors until he became disabled. Bill was a companion and caregiver to his mother until her death in December of 2020.
Bill enjoyed the out of doors, spending time at Pier Park feeding the ducks, and taking his dog, Sportie, for walks in the neighborhood.
He was a member of Destiny Church and appreciated the support he received from Pastor Tim.
Bill will be missed by his children, Austin and Ryan Gerbers, Kari Wolf, all of Nebraska, and Tiffany Gerbig, of Colorado, as well as several grandchildren.
Others left to cherish his memory include his sisters, Kris (Brian) Sands and Kathy (Steve) Hancock both of Grand Island.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents, William L. and Virginia L. Gerbig.
