William, E. "Billy" Dugan, 72, of Greeley, NE, died Friday, July 21, 2017, at CHI Health Good Samaritan in Kearney, NE. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, July 26, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Greeley, NE. The Rev. James P. Warner will celebrate the funeral mass. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 – 7 p.m. at the church with a vigil service at 7:00 p.m. Curran Funeral Chapel in Grand Island is assisting the family. Billy was born October 25, 1944, at Grand Island, NE. He was the son of Marvin W. "Bill" and Mary E. "Mac" (Stark) Dugan. Survivors of his immediate family include his children, William Donald "Billy Don" and Paula Dugan of Parker, CO Jean Ann "Tina" and Steve Carbaugh of Paragould, AR Jared Patrick and Kristie Dugan of Cozad, NE Wade Michael and Debbie Dugan of Lincoln, NE His father, Bill Dugan of Greeley, NE Siblings, Gary and Sarah Dugan of Elizabeth, CO Carol and Ed Reilly of Greeley, NE Jane Dugan-McIntyre of Greeley, NE Barbara and Tim McIntyre of Greeley, NE Mary Frances and Mark Haschke of Spalding, NE David John Dugan of Grand Island, NE He will be missed by his grandchildren, Carli, Trevor, Kylee, Kyra, Reilly, Cale, Ashton, Chase, Brenna, Jed, Kennedy, and his two great grandchildren, Kelseigh and Ellery, and several nieces and nephews. Billy grew up on the family farm in Greeley. He attended Sacred Heart School graduating in 1963. He continued his education studying Ag Business at UNL. After college he returned to Greeley where he farmed with his father. He married Dianne Kennedy on May 1, 1965, at Greeley, NE. They made their home in Greeley where he continued farming. Billy most enjoyed time spent with his family. He loved attending his grandchildren's school and sporting activities. He was an exceptional athlete with a passion for baseball where he ruled center field. An avid outdoors man who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a successful thoroughbred horse owner celebrating in the winner's circle with Inferno's Reality. Farming and being on the family farm was what he relished most. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Greeley. He will be welcomed into heaven by his infant daughter Ann Marie and his mother Mac.
