Obituary

Wayne W. Radcliff, 85, of Grand Island, NE, died Thursday, September 6, 2018, at Grand Island Park Place Care and Rehabilitation Center. Graveside services will be Friday, September 14, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. at the Grand Island City Cemetery. Pastor Bill Rowland of Beacon of Hope Church in Grand Island will officiate. Military honors will be rendered by the United Veterans Honor Guard and the U.S. Army Honor Team. Curran Funeral Chapel is caring for the family. Wayne was born February 17, 1933, at Stuart, NE. He was the son of Lewis and Erma (Ouart) Radcliff. Survivors of his immediate family include his wife Irene Radcliff of Grand Island, NE Son, Jimmy Dean (Linda) Radcliff of Crete, NE Step children, Ron and Pam Ball of Galt, CA Glen Overfield of Grand Island, NE Gina (Ed) Reha of Grand Island, NE Sisters, Arleen (Richard) Bong of Sioux Falls, SD Cheryl Stephens-Brown of Sioux Falls, SD Jane (Rich) Sagness of Sioux Falls, SD Janis Zemanek of Bridge Port, NE Sister-in-law, Evelyn Morganflash of Hastings, NE Numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Wayne grew up in Stuart, NE attending public school there. He entered the U.S. Army on May 22, 1953 serving two tours in Korea until his honorable discharge on May 13, 1955. He continued serving his country in the Army Reserve until May 31, 1961. After his military service Wayne returned to Stuart, NE driving truck for an explosive company. He married Caroline E. "Ann" Newman. They lived in Grand Island and from this union his son Jimmy Dean was born. He later married Maxine Davis on June 6, 1968, at Grand Island, NE. Wayne worked at New Holland, and at several auto dealers detailing and servicing vehicles all the while moonlighting out of his shop in his back yard, Radcliff Garage. He serviced vehicles for over 50 years, three generations for some families. Maxine died September 30, 1992. He married Irene Morganflash on December 2, 1996, in Hastings, NE. They lived in Grand Island. Wayne's passion was fixing vehicles. He was blessed to call his hobby his job. He had a wonderful since of humor as well. Wayne was a member of the United Veterans Club in Grand Island. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Maxine, sister and brother-in-law, Opel (Robert) Radcliff Brown, brothers, Leo and Robert Radcliff, step-daughter, Gigi Overfield Einspahr, and step son-in-law, Angelo Sanchez.
