W. Ralph Borgmann, 76, of Grand Island, Nebraska, died Saturday, June 26, 2010, at St. Francis Medical Center. A celebration of his life service will be Thursday, July 1, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. at Resurrection Catholic Church. The Rev. Michael F. McDermott & Rev. James C. Schmitt will officiate. Private family inurnment will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Curran Funeral Chapel is assisting with arrangements.
Ralph was born December 31, 1933, at Longmont, Colorado. He was the son of Walter H. & Edna L. (Slee) Borgmann.

Ralph grew up and received his education at Mead High School, graduating in 1951. He farmed with his father till 1958 then returned to college at Colorado State University. He graduated with a BS in Industrial Construction Management in 1963. He then went to work with General Motors Truck Division in Billings, Montana. He married Joyce Stromenger in September 4, 1965, at Glenwood, Minnesota. He worked with GM until 1972 then entered truck retail in Lafayette, Indiana and relocated to Grand Island in 1975, creating Borgmann GMC. The company was sold to Nebraska Truck Center in 1981 and he remained with them until retirement in January 2002.
He cherished his grandchildren, loved to golf and enjoyed hunting & fishing.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, David Borgmann.
Memorials are suggested to Resurrection Catholic Church or the American Heart Association.
