Victoriano "Don Peno" Perez Reyes, 59, of Grand Island, NE, died Saturday, January 21, 2017, at CHI Health St. Francis in Grand Island, NE. Mass of Christian burial will be Friday, January 27, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Cathedral. The Rev. James R. Golka will be the celebrant. Burial will be in the Grand Island City Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, January 26, 2017, from 4 – 7 p.m. at Curran Funeral Chapel with a vigil service at 7 p.m. Curran Funeral Chapel is assisting the family. Victor was born March 23, 1957, at Michoacán, Mexico. He was the son of Ezequiel and Ernestina (Reyes Paramo) Perez. Survivors of the immediate family include his wife, Rosa Perez Reyes of Grand Island, NE Children and their spouses, Rosa (Hector M. Aguilar) Perez and their son Larry Aguilar all of Grand Island, NE Victor A. Perez of Grand Island, NE Juan L. Perez of Grand Island, NE Jose M. Perez of Grand Island, NE His mother, Ernestina Reyes of Joliet, IL Brothers and sisters, Juana, Ma Guadalupe, Blanca Esthela, Humberto, Graciela, David, Jose, and Consuelo. Victor grew up in Michoacán, Mexico where he completed a law degree. He immigrated to the United States in 1988 working seasonally in the agricultural field. He returned with his family to Grand Island in 2008 and was employed with Diamond Engineering as a laborer. He enjoyed the outdoors, jogging, playing cards and loved to keep a clean house. He loved his yearly visits to Mexico. He attended St. Mary's Cathedral. He is preceded in death by his father and an infant sister.
