Victor Flores, 72, of Grand Island, NE, died Monday, December 28, 2020, at his home. Mass of Christian burial will be Tuesday, January 5, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Cathedral. The Rev. Joseph G. Broudou will be the celebrant. Interment will be in the Grand Island City Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, January 4, 2021 from 4 – 6 p.m. at Curran Funeral Chapel with a vigil service at 6. CDC recommended guidelines will be followed and face masks are required at the visitation and funeral mass. The funeral mass will be livestreamed on St. Mary's Cathedral Facebook page. Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation. Curran Funeral Chapel is assisting the family. Victor was born July 22, 1948, in Mexico City, Mexico. He was the son of Ignacio Bautista Rodriguez and Francisca Flores Hernandez. He grew up in Mexico until immigrating to the United States in 1975. He lived in California before moving to Grand Island in 1993. Victor worked production at McCain Foods, retiring in 2016 after 20 years of service. In retirement Victor shared his love of animals by helping at Rainwater Kennels. Victor was an avid sportsman enjoying soccer, horseracing, and he liked to travel. He attended St. Mary's Cathedral. Victor will be missed by his children, Victor (Jamie) Flores of Grand Island, NE Norma (Jose Luis) Navarro of Delano, CA Margarita Flores of Delano, CA Maria Flores of Tulare, CO Salvador (Ramona) Flores of Selma, CA Lorena (Ramon) Rodriguez of Aurora, NE Nancy Flores of Grand Island, NE Ignacio (Lucia) Flores of Grand Island, NE 18 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Siblings, Salustia Bautista Flores, Julia Bautista Flores, Jose Bautista Flores, Silvia Brenes Flores, and Juan Brenes Flores all of Mexico. Victor was preceded in death by his parents, great granddaughter, Esperanza Flores, brother, Ismael Bautista Flores.
