Obituary

Timothy Timmy Alan Perlinger was born on October 19, 1961, in Ogallala, NE. He grew up in the Ogallala-Paxton area, and graduated mid-term of his senior year with honors from Ogallala High School. Timmy studied culinary arts and did a one year internship as a chef at Walt Disney World. After returning to Nebraska, he earned his Associates Degree in Hotel, Motel, and Restaurant Management, from Central Community College in Hastings. This led to him managing food service at Tiffany Square in Grand Island for a number of years. Though his passion for food and cooking never diminished, he opted to take a different path in his career after a time. He worked for many years at Motleys Auction. Afterwards, he became a private contractor for the home preservation company TM Properties, and was closely affiliated with the restaurant hood cleaning business, Boyz in da Hood. Some people might have called Timmy a workaholic, but he devoted as much time to helping others as he did to any job. He hosted numerous fundraisers for several non-profit organizations. He was a proud and active member of the LGBT community, and advocated strongly to raise education and awareness of, and for, HIV/AIDS. This included his involvement with the Red-Ribbon Society and Nebraska Aids Project, and participating in many local Pride events. Timmy was also a member of both the Elks and the Platt-Duetsche. Timmy leaves behind: his husband, Blair Lyons of Grand Island, NE; his parents, father James Perlinger and wife Pat of Paxton, NE, and mother Emma Welch Cooper of Lincoln, NE; his siblings, sister Sunnee Davison and husband Herb of Lincoln, NE, brother James Perlinger Jr of Lincoln, NE, brother Robert Perlinger and wife Paige of Benton, AR, brother Randy Perlinger of Paxton, NE, and brother Chad Perlinger and wife Tania of Ogallala, NE; adopted daughter McKayla Brown of Hastings, NE; and countless nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and in-laws. Timmy passed peacefully at home with family and friends, May 6th, 2015. Celebration of life will be held on May 15th, 2015, 2pm at First Christian Church, 2400 W. 14th, Grand Island A memorial fund has been established at Centris Federal Credit Union under: Tim Perlingers Memorial Fund Online condolences may be given at www.curranfuneralchapel.com under Timmy's obituary.
