Obituary
Terry A. Derby, 73, of Grand Island, died Saturday, May 21, 2022, at his home. No service is planned at this time. Memorials are suggested to the family for designation at a later date. Terry was born September 5, 1948, in Grand Island, NE. He is the son of Stan and Yvonne (Menck) Derby. Terry grew up in Grand Island attending Trinity Lutheran School and graduating from Grand Island Sr. High School. He lived in Spokane, WA where he was a talented cabinet maker and carpenter. Terry returned to Nebraska settling in Doniphan, NE. He was an OTR trucker, driving for Sunrise Express for over 20 years, retiring in 2017 due to health issues.
Terry's passion was cars, namely muscle cars. He is remembered for his Firebird better known as "Fire Chicken". He was a skilled woodworker and carpenter but most will remember him for his love of family, unselfish nature, his caring and giving way. If asked, he would give you the shirt off his back.

Tammie Weber of Aurora, NE
Others left to cherish his memory include his grandchildren, Sean, David, and Alexis Fried, and Christopher McGeorge.
Terry is preceded in death by his mother, Yvonne "Dee" Schultz, and grandparents, Arthur and Velda Menck.
