Suzanne S. Paulsen, 89, of Grand Island, NE passed Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at Tiffany Square Care Center. Suzanne's wish was to be cremated. A memorial service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Pastor Bill Pavuk will officiate. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Grand Island City Cemetery. The family will greet the public from 10 a.m. until service time. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Stuhr Museum's Windolph House. Condolences may be given at www.curranfuneralchapel.com under Suzanne's obituary. Suzanne was born June 18, 1934, on her Windolph grandparents homestead on Seedling Mile Rd. The daughter of Albert J. and Clara (Windolph) Schultz Sr. She grew up attending Seedling Mile School and graduated from Grand Island Sr. High in 1952. Suzanne was a member of the Girls Trio music group all four years of high school. She began her career with Northwestern Bell Telephone Co. after high school. She married George S. Paulsen on April 25, 1954 in Grand Island, NE. The couple made their home in Grand Island raising their children Jenifer and Scott. Suzanne retired from the phone company in 1993 after 41 years of service. George and Suzanne were married 51 years before his death on November 16, 2006.
Suzanne loved music and was the family genealogist. This love of research and photography lead her to volunteer at Stuhr Museum in the Research Department and was a prime reason for her involvement with the Prairie Pioneer Genealogy Society. She was the woman behind the camera for most of the family photos and documented details of each family member.
Suzanne was a lifetime member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, served in Sunday School, Bible School, Church Circles, choir, and was a member of the funeral lunch committee. She was an active volunteer in the community: St. Francis Lifeline, Jefferson PTA lifetime member, Girl and Boy Scouts, and Demoley Mother of the Year.

Grandsons, Andrew (Amanda) Cook, Tyler Paulsen (Krystal Schaller), Travis (Sarah) Paulsen, Trevor (Ericah) Paulsen
Great grandchildren, Jace Paulsen and Ellie Paulsen
Sister-in-law, Nancy Mugg, special cousin, Connie Nielsen, and many nieces and nephews from Nebraska to Oregon.
Suzanne was preceded in death by her parents, husband, George, infant son, Jeffrey, son Scott, siblings, Mildred Hamburg, Albert Schultz Jr., Gordon Schultz, and recent deaths of nieces, Susan Schultz Peters and Laureen Hamburg O'Larey.
