Son Wol Kim, 103, of Grand Island, NE, died Friday, May 27, 2022, at her home with family by her side. Services will be Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at, 10:30 a.m. at Curran Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Jorge Canela will officiate. Internment will be in the Grand Island City Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the family for designation at a later date. She was the daughter of Sa Suk and Sun Ja (Lee) Kim. She grew up in Seoul. She married Soung Sun An. The couple made their home in Seoul where they raised their children, Chi Cha, Kwan Nok, Rye Ja, Young Nok, and In Ja. Following the death of her husband, Son Wol immigrated to the United States in 1991. She lived with her daughter where she enjoyed cooking, working in the yard, and keeping house. She was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral. Son Wol is survived by her sons, Kwan Nok An of Grand Island, NE Young Nok An of Seoul, South Korea Daughters, Chi Cha (Jon) Foss of Grand Island, NE Rye Ja Kwon of Fairfax, VA In Ja An of Seoul, South Korea Son Wol is preceded in death by her husband, five children, and numerous brothers and sisters.
