Scott D. Rieflin, 52, of Gretna, NE, formerly of Doniphan, NE, died Thursday, June 21, 2018, at his home. Scott's wishes were to be cremated. A memorial service will be Thursday, June 28, 2018, at 1:30 p.m. at Curran Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Adam Sughroue will officiate. Inurnment will be in Cedarview Cemetery in Doniphan, NE. The family will receive friends and share Scott's memory on Tuesday, June 26, 2018, from 4 – 7 p.m. at Roeder Mortuary, in Gretna, NE and Wednesday, June 27, 2018, from 4 – 7 p.m. at Curran Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the family with a fund being established for his girls Teara and Kylee. Curran Funeral Chapel is serving the family with assistance from Roeder Mortuary. Scott was born January 29, 1966, at Hastings, NE. He was the son of Duane C. and Vada M. (Holmgrain) Rieflin. Survivors of his immediate family include his wife, Jennifer Rieflin of Greenwood, NE Daughters, Teara and Kylee Rieflin both of Greenwood, NE Parents, Duane and Vada Rieflin of Doniphan, NE Sisters and brother-in-law, Mary and Joe Barton of Lincoln, NE Julie Rieflin of Doniphan, NE Nephews and niece, Alexander Rieflin, Chase Barton, Grant Barton, and Hailey Barton. Scott grew up in Doniphan, NE. He graduated from Doniphan High School in 1984. After high school he farmed in Doniphan with his father Duane. He married Jennifer Johnson on March 6, 1999, in Omaha, NE. He and Jen lived in Greenwood, NE. where they raised their girls Teara and Kylee. Scott owned and operated an excavation company, First Underground. Scott's passion was his girls and Quarter horses. He loved showing horses with them and the 4-H events they participated in. Scott coached his girls YMCA league volleyball and basketball teams while they were young. He trained and showed quarter horses. In 1994 and 2004 Scott received the AQHA Reserve World Champion – Amateur Heeling, 2004 Top 10 in the Nation AQHA Heel Horse Deductible Hobby, 2015 AQHA 3rd in the World – Amateur Heeling L2. Scott is welcomed into heaven by his grandparents, Wayne and Doris Rieflin, Theresa Cavanaugh and Edgar Holmgrain, aunt, Nan Holmgrain, and his cousin Benjamin Kinney.
