Sandie was born February 22, 1938, in Holdrege, NE. The daughter of Elmer and Grace (Dunbar) Flohr. Sandie's mother died when Sandie was in grade school. She moved to Atlanta, NE to live with her sister and brother-in-law, Patsy and Don Fitch. She attended school at Loomis High School graduating in 1956. Following graduation she worked at Popeys, a popular café, then worked as nurse aid at Holdrege Memorial Hospital. She moved to Marquette, NE in 1957 to help her brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Lavonne Flohr, with their baby, Jay Dee. A blind date with Ken Danhauer resulted in weddings plans. She got an apartment in Aurora and a job with Hamilton Phone Company as a night switch board operator to help with wedding expenses. They married December 17, 1957 and made their home in Marquette where they farmed "Uncle Berck's" north of the Methodist Church. They raised their five children there until moving to what is now The Grain Place on Hwy 14, later purchasing and moving to the Marquette Carlson Airport property on Hwy 14. After their divorce in 1976, Sandie worked at the Aurora News Register as Society editor, then at Carlson Components as office manager until getting her Nebraska Real Estate License in 1977. In 1981 she received her Brokers License. She loved being a realtor and helping people find just the right house. This was evident as she was awarded Realtor of Distinction by the Grand Island Board of Realtors in 1997. In 2014 she was recognized for 25 years of service. Health issues forced her to retire in 2015 after a 38 year career. She also managed the Van Wie Timberline Apartment complex for years. She loved to fish, tend her flower garden and was a wonderful cook and baker, hosting many holiday meals with family all around. She especially loved the time spent with her grandchildren. Survivors of her immediate family include her four sons and a daughter, Dave Danhauer of Omaha, NE Mike Danhauer of Aurora, NE Jim and Marni Danhauer of Marquette, NE Todd Danhauer of Marquette, NE Julie and Greg Ellenwood of Republican City, NE Sister-in-laws, Lavonne Flohr of Grand Island, NE Arlene Danhauer of Marquette, NE Sharon Hansen of Aurora, NE Others left to cherish her memory include her grandchildren and their spouses, Shelby Danhauer and her mother Theresa Wolff, Matt and Kelsey Danhauer and daughter Marley, Chris Danhauer and fiancé Jenny Engleman , Josh Danhauer, Evan and Jayne Ellenwood, Adam Ellenwood, Darian Ellenwood, Ashley and Mitch Holly, James K.
