Russell Russ O. Forsythe Jr., 56, of Grand Island, Nebraska, died Monday, July 04, 2011, at St. Francis Skilled Care. Mr. Forsythe wishes were to be cremated. A celebration of his life will be Friday, July 8, 2011, from 5 7:30 p.m. at BTs Lounge. Curran Funeral Chapel is assisting the family. Russ was born June 14, 1955, at Omaha, Nebraska. He was the son of Russell O. & Lora J. (Noland) Forsythe Sr. Survivors of the immediate family include his wife, Lori Forsythe of Grand Island, NE Two sons, Noland Forsythe of Grand Island, NE Rick Forsythe of Grand Island, NE Daughters, Taylor Forsythe of Grand Island, NE Mandalynne Forsythe of Omaha, NE Jackie Davis of Omaha, NE Mother, Lora Forsythe of Carter Lake, Iowa One brother, Craig Forsythe of Carter Lake, Iowa Two sisters & brothers-in-law, Linda & Dave Walton of Omaha, NE Diane & Dan VanHouten of Council Bluffs, Iowa Others left to cherish is memory include his granddaughter , Shaelynne DiMauro, as well as beloved nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Russ grew up in Carter Lake, Iowa, graduating in 1973 from Thomas Jefferson High School, in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He worked for 19 years, in production, as Accounts Payable Manager, Planning Manager and Distribution Center Manager for Campbell Soup Company in Omaha, NE. Russ married Lori Karr on December 30, 1989 at Council Bluffs, Iowa. They moved to Grand Island in 1995 where he was employed at G.I. Express as V.P. of Logistics until 2006. He operated his own business, FLS Inc. , for three years, then became Manager of Logistics at Surise Express. He was an avid Thoroughbred horse racing fan and owner and enjoyed golfing.
