Roma Nabi, 52, of Grand Island, died Saturday, May 10, 2014, at his home after courageously battling cancer. Services will be Thursday, May 15, 2014, at 10:30 a.m., at the Evangelical Free Church. The Rev. Gary Schulte will officiate. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 14, 2014, from 4 7 p.m. at Curran Funeral Chapel. Curran Funeral Chapel is assisting the family.
Roma was born September 26, 1961, in Bhaka, Bangladesh. He was the son of Nuran and Sufia (Yunus) Nabi.
Survivors of his immediate family include his parents of Bhaka, Bangladesh
Three sisters and two brothers.

Roma moved to Oklahoma at the age of 18, he attended the University of Central Oklahoma, completing his Bachelors of Science Degree in May of 1995. He managed several jewelry stores in Oklahoma and Nebraska before moving to Grand Island in 1994 to manage Brodkeys Jewelry store. When the business closed he managed Kay Jewelry in Gretna, NE until ill health forced him to retire.
Roma loved dinning out and listening to music.
He was a member of the Evangelical Free Church.
He was preceded in death by a brother.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund will be established in Romas name.
