Obituary
Robert C. Peterson, 71, of Grand Island, NE, died unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, April 13, 2024. A private family service is planned for a later date. Robert was born July 2, 1952, in Newman Grove, NE. The son of Clifton E. and Stella M. (Loken) Peterson. Robert grew up in the Albion area graduating from Albion High School. He entered the U.S. Army serving as a Radio Mech. in the states and later in Germany until his honorable discharge on September 3, 1975. Upon returning home Robert worked for Vector Exterminating in Hastings, NE for several years before beginning his career with the U.S. Post Office. He served as President of the Postal Union before retiring after 20 years of service.
Robert was well known for his spirited attitude, infectious laughter, and compassion for people. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, watching their sporting and school events. He was an avid sports fan who followed the Huskers and K.C. Chiefs in addition to his love of golfing.
Robert is survived by his son, Jason Peterson of Grand Island, NE
Brothers, Richard Peterson of Walla Walla, WA
Rodney Peterson of Albion, NE
Others left to cherish his memory include his grandchildren, Destiny Peterson, Justice Peterson, Jayden Peterson and their mother, Kelli Peterson.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Beverly Barnhart.
