Robert E. "Bob" Lee, 59, of Grand Island, NE, died, Monday, November 6, 2017, at University of Nebraska Medical Center, in Omaha, NE. Bob's life will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 14, 2017, with a visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Curran Funeral Chapel followed by a graveside committal service at 3:00 p.m. at the Grand Island City Cemetery. Bob was born February, 5, 1958, in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He was the son of Robert E. and Mary Jane (Hermes) Lee.

Bob grew up in Grand Island graduating from GISH School in 1977. He worked in food service for over 40 years beginning with his first job at Heights Drive Inn, later working with his family at Big John's, which operates currently as Lee's Family Restaurant. Bob also worked at Chief Industries as a welder and manager of Bonanza. Bob was part owner of Lee's Family Restaurant in which he was a daily fixture along with his family. Bob was married to Theda "Jodie" Cassel, and was a good father helping raise Jodie's children Seth and Caleb. Bob being a hard worker currently owned and operated a house flipping business Nice Homes, Inc. In the past he owned and operated RL Janitorial. He enjoyed life and loved to entertain people, he always tried to give people a laugh or a story, he will be truly missed at Lee's by many customers and employees. In addition to work Bob loved his Bible and God. Bob also enjoyed bowling, two cats, his cars, music and being with his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, Robert E. Lee, younger brother, John Lee, sister Catherine Lee, grandparents, William and Frances Lee, and Walter and Mabel Hermes.
