Robert J. Kemper, 89, died peacefully in his sleep at his home in St. Libory, Nebraska on Thursday November 18, 2021. Mass of Christian burial will be Wednesday, November 24, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Libory Catholic Church. The Rev. Sidney B. Bruggeman will be the celebrant. Private family inurnment will be in the St. Libory Catholic Cemetery. Military honors will be rendered by the Carl Mogensen American Legion Post #119 of St. Paul and the U.S. Air Force Honor Team. Bob was born on March 19, 1932, in Grand Island, the son of Frank and Frances (Evers) Kemper. Bob grew up in Grand Island with his parents and sister, Mary Kathryn Kemper. He was a multisport athlete at St. Mary's Catholic School. He served in the U.S. Air Force for 4 years including a year overseas in the Korean War. Bob married Jeanette Kiolbasa in August of 1957 in Grand Island. Bob raised his family in the Denver, Colorado area where he was a mortgage banker. His family was his greatest joy in life. He loved and led summer barbecues, firework displays, water fights, and endless card games with his children and grandchildren. He moved back to Nebraska recently to live with his daughter. Bob is survived by his wife of over 64 years, Jeanette Kemper, and three children: Steve (Mary), Kathy (Scott), and Vicki (Mark), son-in-law, Dave. He was a loving grandfather of 12 and great-grandfather of six. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter Christy.
