Robert L. "Bob" Dryer, 91, of Grand Island, NE, died Saturday, February 17, 2018, at Tiffany Square Care Center, with family at his side. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, February 21, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Mary's Cathedral. The Rev. James R. Golka and Rev. Sidney B. Bruggeman will concelebrate the funeral mass. Burial will be in the Grand Island City Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 20, 2018, from 4 – 6 p.m. with a vigil service at 6. Memorials are suggested to St. Mary's Cathedral or to Grand Island Central Catholic. Curran Funeral Chapel is assisting the family.
Bob was born May 23, 1926, in Grand Island, NE to Charles and Louise Dryer. He attended elementary and high school at St. Mary's Catholic Schools in Grand Island graduating in 1945. He graduated from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln in 1950 with a degree in agriculture. He was united in marriage to Phyllis Gene Daberkow on December 2, 1950. They were married for 60 years. Phyllis passed away in 2011. He worked at Kernan's Shoe Company in Grand Island for 42 years, retiring in 1992. He enjoyed gardening, sporting events and family gatherings.
He was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral his entire life and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Preceded in death by his parents, wife Phyllis Dryer, brother, Charles Dryer Jr., sister, Harriet Fitzpatrick, granddaughter, Stefanie Chesley, sons-in-law, Steve Chesley, Dave Edmunds and Joel Plettner.
