Ricarda Reyes-Ortiz, 79, of Grand Island, Nebraska, died Saturday, June 18, 2011, at St. Francis Medical Center. Services will be Wednesday, June 22, 2011, at 3:00 p.m. at St. Marys Cathedral. The Rev. Jonathan D. Sorensen will officiate. Burial will be at Cuamio, Michoacn, Mexico, at a later date. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 21, 2011, from 4 7:00 p.m. at Curran Funeral Chapel with a Vigil service at 7:00 p.m. Curran Funeral Chapel is assisting the family. Ricarda was born May 4, 1932, at Cuitzeo, Michoacn, Mexico. She was the daughter of Pascual Reyes and Felipa Ortiz. Ricarda grew up in Mexico and attended school there. She married Concordio Nunez in 1953 at Cuitzeo Michoacn, Mexico where she raised her children before coming to the U.S. in 1990. She enjoyed time spent with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and was an excellent cook. She was a member of St. Marys Cathedral. Memorials are suggested to the familys choice.
