Obituary

Randall L. Reed, 61, of Grand Island, NE, died Wednesday, December 14, 2016, at his home. Mr. Reed wished to be cremated. No services are planned. Curran Funeral Chapel is assisting the family. Randy was born June 14, 1955, at Nashville, TN. He was the son of James and Wiladeen (Reed) Virgin. Survivors of the immediate family include his wife, Gwen Reed of Grand Island, NE A son, Randy Reed of Grand Island, NE Sister, Sherry Crosby of Nashville, TN Others left to cherish his memory include his precious granddaughter, Kaylynn Reed, her mother and very important person in Randy's life Tonya Meier. Randy grew up in Tennessee. He entered the U. S. Army serving from August 23, 1973 until his honorable discharge on September 24, 1973. He married Gwen K. Wernke on July 17, 1981 at Springfield, MO. They lived in Grand Island where Randy worked for Monfort, Olsen Auction, Dreisbach's, Tri-City Signs, Diamond Plastics, Gibbon Pack, and Conway Trucking until a disabling motorcycle accident in 2004 caused his disability. He was proud of completing his GED in 2013. He cherished several things more than life: his wife, son, granddaughter, his four legged friend Baboo, and the time spent with all of them. He was an avid fisherman and you could find him shooting pool or leagues many nights of the week. He enjoyed pool and fishing with his son, Randy. He loved riding his Harley. Randy will be loved always and forever and never forgotten. Memorials are suggested to the family. He was preceded in death by his parents.
