Phyllis J. Canfield, 73, of Dannebrog, Nebraska, died Sunday, February 2, 2014, at Madonna Rehab Center, in Lincoln, NE. Services will be Thursday, February 6, 2014, at 10:00 a.m., at Curran Funeral Chapel. Pastor Rob Pearson will officiate. Burial will be in the Ord Cemetery with a 2:00 p.m. committal service. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 5, 2014, from 4 7 p.m. Curran Funeral Chapel is assisting the family.
Phyllis was born March 6, 1940, at Ft. Lauderdale, FL. She was the daughter of Myron Bleach and Myrtle Hurlbert

Phyllis grew up in Ord, Nebraska graduating from Ord High School in 1958. She married Eldon R. Canfield on July 5, 1959, at Ord. They lived there for several years before moving to Grand Island, NE, in 1962. Phyllis was a homemaker, raising her children with Eldon. She was active in Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts and was a band parent supporting her children in the arts throughout high school. After her children were grown, she worked as a secretary for several local businesses. She began working for Kentucky Fried Chicken in 1996, after which she volunteered at St. Francis Medical Center in the gift shop for six years, until health issues forced her to retire.
She loved her grandchildren and spending time with them. She was an avid gardener, loved flowers, sewing, reading and music.
She was a member of Third City Christian Church.
A memorial will be established, at a later date, in Phylliss name.
She is welcomed into heaven by her parents, a son Randal Canfield and a grandson Jacob Canfield and a sister Sondra Bates.
