Peter C. “Pete” Haase, 69, of Grand Island, NE formerly of Manitowoc, WI, went home to his Lord Jesus on December 18, 2025, with his family at his side. Pete’s life will be celebrated Saturday, February 7, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Curran Funeral Chapel. Rev. Donald A. Buhrman will officiate. The service will be livestreamed on Curran Funeral Chapel’s Facebook page. The Grand Island Elks Lodge 604 will present the Elk’s Rest service. Inurnment will be in Manitowoc, WI at a later date. Memorials are suggested to St. Leo’s Youth Scholarship Fund or Elks Youth Scholarship Fund. Condolences may be given at www.curranfuneralchapel.com under Pete’s obituary. Pete was born to Wilbur C. and Dorothy E. (Morzinski) Haase on June 10, 1956, in Manitowoc, WI graduating from Lincoln Hight High School in 1974. He was an Eagle Scout and played saxophone and was a drum major while in high school. He married Bonnie J. Gulseth on December 27, 1978, Las Vegas, NV. He began his retail career at Montgomery Wards in Manitowoc, WI before joining Shopko stores which took his wife Bonnie and daughters; Shannon and Michelle to many different states. Pete was instrumental in opening and managing several Walmart locations one being the Fon Dulac, WI store. He also was office manager for Pioneer Doors Inc. in Grand Island, NE retiring June 10, 2023 due to health issues. Pete and his wife also owned and operated Fun Notes Singing Telegram Services in Grand Island

He enjoyed fishing, bowling, dancing, and was an avid hunter.

Pete was a member of St. Leo’s Catholic Church, serving as an usher for many years and was a Third-Degree Knights of Columbus Council #10387. He was active in the Grand Island Elks Club and served as past Exalted Ruler.

Sister, Beverly Novak of Manitowoc, WI

Brother, Richard (Norleen) Haase of Fon Dulac, WI in addition to many nieces and nephews.

Pete is preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur and Dorothy Haase, brother, Micheal (Kotia) Haase, Jack (Lee) Sherwma, Glen Sherwma, and special friend, Russ Miller.
