Obituary

Mary T. Bohan, 80, of Good Samaritan Center in Wood River, NE, died Sunday, September 11, 2016, with family by her side, at CHI Health St. Francis, in Grand Island, NE. Marys wishes were to be cremated. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, September 16, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Marys Cathedral. The Rev. James R. Golka will be the celebrant. Inurnment will be in the Grand Island City Cemetery. The family will receive friends, Thursday, September 15, 2016, from 6 8 p.m. at Curran Funeral Chapel, with a vigil service at 8:00 p.m. Curran Funeral Chapel is assisting the family. Mary was born February 12, 1936, at Colorado Springs, Colorado. She is the daughter of George A. & Albertina (Tauscher) Richardson. Survivors of the immediate family include: a son & daughter-in-law: John & Kathy Bohan of Huntsville, Alabama. One daughter & son-in-law: Larry & Anne Bohan Woitaszewski of Wood River, Nebraska. Two brothers & sister-in-laws: George & Vina Richardson of Butte, Montana. Alford & Shirley Richardson of Northglenn, Colorado. One sister & brother-in-law: Ann & J.D. Shirley of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Seven Grandchldren: Lacey, Lily, & Lance Woitaszewski, Kristy, Andrew, Nicholas Bohan and Mitch Croot. Mary grew up in Denver, Colorado attending Cathedral Grade & High School graduating in 1954. She danced for the Lillian Covella Dance Company while in high school performing in several productions. She continued her education at Parks Business College receiving her Associate Degree in 1956. She was employed with the Denver Catholic Register for four years. She married William Bill Bohan on May 10, 1958 at Scottsbluff, Nebraska. They lived in Denver and she worked for E.T. Campbell and later Franchise Liquor. She also was employed with Rocky Mountain Arsenal for two years. They moved to Grand Island in 1970. She is a member of St. Marys Cathedral.
