Maria Arrez Rodriguez, 69, of Grand Island, NE, died Monday, September 11, 2023, at Emerald Nursing & Rehab Lakeview, in Grand Island, NE, with family at her side. Mass of Christian burial will be Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Cathedral. The Rev. Jorge Canela will officiate. Interment will be in the Grand Island City Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, September 18, 2023, from 4 – 6 p.m. at Curran Funeral Chapel with a vigil service at 6 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the family for designation at a later date. She is the daughter of Julian and Rosa (Mejia) Arrez. Maria grew up in Mexico. She married Ramon Rodriguez on December 21, 1943. She was a factory worker at Kellogg's. Maria is survived by her husband, Ramon Rodriguez Sr. of Grand Island, NE Children, Albertano Rodriguez of Villa Park, IL Mabel Rodriguez of Joliet, IL Ramon (Loreana) Rodriguez Jr. of Aurora, NE Mother, Rosa Arrez of California Two brothers and three sisters, numerous grandchildren and one great granddaughter. Maria is preceded in death by her father, Julian Arrez, sons, Jose Rodriguez, Jose Julian Rodriguez, and one brother.
