Margret A. "Marge" Peters, 82, of Grand Island, NE, died Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at Tiffany Square Care Center. Marge will be cremated. Mass of Christian burial will be Monday, July 22, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Cathedral. The Rev. Jorge Canela will be the celebrant. A Catholic Daughters rosary will be recited at 9 a.m., with family greeting the public following the rosary until the funeral mass. The family requests casual attire for the mass. Private family inurnment will be in St. Francis Cemetery in Ashton, NE. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to St. Mary's Cathedral or Catholic Daughters of Americas Court Ave Maria #1263. Marge was born January 5, 1942, in Scotia, NE. She is the daughter of Horace and Monica (Smyth) Karre. She grew up on a farm north of Scotia graduating from Scotia High School. Marge married LaVern "Dean" Peters on April 27, 1963, in Scotia, NE. They lived in St. Paul, NE before moving to Los Banos, CA. In 1970 the family returned to Nebraska making their home in Grand Island where Marge raised her boys.
Marge was a fixture at Sunday Bingo at the Vet's Club and she enjoyed flower gardening and daily walks with her dog.
Marge was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral, St. Mary's Cathedral Ladies, Funeral Dinner Ladies, Friendship Luncheon, and Catholic Daughters of Americas Court Ave Maria #1263.

Marge is preceded in death by her parents, siblings, Fred (Rose Marie) Karre, Mary (Robert) Hoffman, Ted Karre, Jan (John)Murphy, brothers-in-law, Richard Donovan, Floyd Wardyn and sister-in-law Bette Karre.
