Margaret A. Odle, 70, of Grand Island, Nebraska, died Sunday, August 11, 2013, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, NE. Graveside services will be Thursday, August 15, 2013, at 1:30 p.m. at Mt. Vernon Cemetery in Stockton, KS. Pastor Les Ellis will officiate. Curran Funeral Chapel is assisting the family. Margaret was born February 14, 1943, at Lenora, Kansas. She was the daughter of Delane and Leota Belle (Beck) Olson. Survivors of the immediate family include her husband of 46 years, Darwin Odle of Grand Island, NE One son, Bruce Odle of Grand Island, NE One daughter and son-in-law, Shannon and Gregory Olson of Ragan, NE Two step daughters, Brenda Odle of Dodge City, KS Kim Heron of Hayes, KS Others left to cherish her memory include her grandchildren, Caleb Odle, Cailyn Smith, and many step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren. Margaret grew up and received her education in Lenora, graduating from Lenora High School. She received her Bachelor Degree from Ft. Hays State University. She taught one year at Woodston Public School in Woodston, KS. She married Darwin Odle on June 3, 1967, at Morland, KS. They lived in Beatrice and Clarks, NE before returning to Lenora, KS. They lived in Hamlet and Chapman, NE, Goodland, KS, Springview and Alma, NE and in 1991 moved to Grand Island, NE. Margaret was a loving wife, homemaker and mother. She also was a partner in Buttonhook Carriage Works, a restoration business her husband Darwin and she owned and operated. Margaret did the upholstery and painting as she worked alongside Darwin restoring buggies and other horse drawn equipment. She was a tremendous cook, loved to sew and was a collector of carousel horses. She loved her dog Nikki. Memorials are suggested to the familys choice.
