Obituary

Margaret M. Marge Langan, 83, of Doniphan, Nebraska, died Friday, July 18, 2014, at Tiffany Square Care Center, with her family at her side. Marges wishes were to be cremated. A memorial mass will be celebrated, Saturday, August 2, 2014, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Anns Catholic Church, in Doniphan, NE. The celebrant is Fr. Joseph Faulkner. Inurnment will be in Cedarview Cemetery, Doniphan, NE. The family will greet friends on Friday, August 1, 2014, from 4 7 p.m. at Curran Funeral Chapel with a vigil service at 7:00 p.m. Curran Funeral Chapel is assisting the family. More details will appear later. Marge was born December 16, 1930, in Stuart, Nebraska. She was the daughter of John and Margaret (Keuter) Kramer. Survivors of her immediate family include four daughters and one son-in-law, Jolene Langan of Omaha, NE Janice Wilson-Lewis and Wayne Lewis of Oak Harbor, WA Joyce Aspen of Grand Island, NE Mary Jayne Schroder of Grand Island, NE One son and daughter-in-law, Todd and Patti Langan of Omaha, NE One sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Al Stracke of Lakewood, CO Two sisters-in-law, Frances Kramer of Atkinson, NE Billie Kramer of Canyon City, CO Others left to cherish her memory include her grandchildren and their spouses, Sarah and Jeremy Sanner, Christian and Irene Wilson, Zachary Schroder, Elizabeth Langan and Matthew Langan. Step grandchildren. Jessica Lembo and Jacob Lewis. Great grandchildren, Joshua and Morgan Sanner, step great grandchildren, McKenna Lewis, Ella Lembo and Isabella Villalpando. Marge grew up and attended school in Stuart. She had a hell of a good time in Atkinson and ONeill in her younger days. She was employed at the Northwestern Bell Telephone and Johnson Drug Store. On December 28, 1953, she married Hugh Langan in Stuart, NE. They lived in ONeill, NE, moving to Doniphan, NE in 1962. Marge worked 23 years as a waitress at the Interstate Holiday Inn, and was the founding Coordinator of the Doniphan Senior Center working there until February of 2014, when health issues forced her to retire. She received the Ark Sar Ben Good Neighbor Award in 1981. Mr. Langan died February 18, 1997. She enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren and the many friends she came in contact with at the Senior Center. She was proud of her flower garden and its flowers, enjoyed playing cards, her trips to the college world series and attending the Grand Island Little Theater. She was a member of St. Anns Catholic Church and the Doniphan American Legion Auxiliary. She served with St. Francis Home Health Care and Hospice, and was a member of its Advisory Council Board. A memorial will be established in Marges name at a later date. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Hugh Langan, brothers, Sy, Herman, Johnny, Paul, Larry and a sister Loretta Hoffman.
