Margaret A. Ann Costello, 73, of Grand Island, NE, died unexpectedly, Friday, June 15, 2012, at the Nebraska Heart Hospital, in Lincoln, NE. Mass of the Christian Burial will be Tuesday, June 19, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Marys Cathedral. The Rev. Richard L. Piontkowski Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in OConnor, Cemetery, OConnor, NE with a 2:00 p.m. committal service. Visitation will be Monday, June 18, 2012, from 4 7 p.m. at Curran Funeral Chapel with a 4:00 p.m. Catholic Daughters Rosary and a 7:00 p.m. vigil service. Curran Funeral Chapel is assisting the family.
Ann was born November 11, 1938, at Greeley, Nebraska. She was the daughter of Francis W. & Margaret E. (Fenton) Joyce.

Others left to cherish her memory include grandchildren, Jennifer & Javier Oritz, Crissey Beed, Jessi & Tom McElmurry, Matt, Andrew,& Chelsey Costello, Tyler, Meghan, Katie Costello, Nicholas Rice, Courtney, Ethan, Calvin Wick, and step grandchildren, Matt & Mical Barnes.
Four great grandchildren, Marie, Caroline, Miklo and Emily.
Ann grew up attending school at OConnor and graduated from Sacred Heart High School at Greeley, NE in 1956. She lived in Des Moines, IA and Omaha, NE before marrying Edward Ed Costello on July 5, 1958, at Church of Visitation, OConnor, NE. They lived in Omaha, Wahoo, St. Paul and Wolbach, where Ann was employed at Wolbach Public Schools. In 1981 they moved to Grand Island and in 1983 the family moved to Guthrie, OK where Ann was employed at Edmond Memorial Hospital. They returned to Grand Island in 1986.
Ann enjoyed family events and following her grandchildrens school and sporting events. She was their number one fan. She liked quilting, genealogy research, bible study and traveling to visit her children and grandchildren.
She was a member of St. Marys Cathedral, Cathedral Ladies, Catholic Daughters of Americas Court Ave Maria #1263, St. Marys Funeral Dinner Volunteers, Christian Mothers, and Red Hat Ladies.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Richard Dick Joyce, a daughter-in-law, Stephanie Costello.
Memorials are suggested to St. Marys Cathedral, or donors choice.
