Larry L. Iversen, 72, of Grand Island, died Thursday, June 4, 2015, at Tiffany Square Care Center surrounded by his family. Mass of the Christian Burial will be Wednesday, June 10, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. at Resurrection Catholic Church. Fr. Michael F. McDermott and Fr. James C. Schmitt will be the concelebrants. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 9, 2015, from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. at Resurrection Catholic Church with a vigil service at 7:00 p.m. Curran Funeral Chapel is assisting the family.
Larry was born at home on October 11, 1942, in Cotesfield, NE. He was the son of Iver J. and Polly Anna (Brisco) Iversen.

Larry grew up in Cotesfield attending school there until the sixth grade at which time he moved with his family to Grand Island, NE. He graduated from Grand Island Sr. High School in 1961. He married Nadine Luft on October 15, 1961, at Grand Island, NE. They moved to Salina, KS while Larry worked on the missile sites, returning to Grand Island after several years. In 1970 Larry began cutting meat for Skagway until purchasing the Wood River Locker in 1976, which he owned and operated until its closing in 1987. He returned to Skagway as a meat cutter retiring in 2008. Larry together with his wife Nadine, owned and operated a family lawn service business. They manicured lawns for 38 years retiring in 2012.
Larry loved spending time with family especially enjoying all of his grandchildrens school and sporting activities. He was active in Boy Scouts assisting each of his grandsons with their Eagle Scout projects. He was an avid gardener, enjoyed golfing, horse racing, wood working, bingo and playing scratch off tickets.
He is a member of Resurrection Catholic Church and a 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Viola Hansen, Elsie Rickard, Annabelle Kelly, JoAnn Sherker, brother, Delmer Iversen, and father and mother-in-law, Raymond and Mabel Luft.
