Obituary

Kirk W. Scheenen, 53, of Grand Island, NE, died Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at St. Francis Medical Center surrounded by family. Mr. Scheenens wishes were to be cremated. A memorial service will be Saturday, March 16, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at Curran Funeral Chapel. Mike Bremer will officiate. Curran Funeral Chapel is assisting the family. Kirk was born December 23, 1959, at Kimball, Nebraska. He was the son of Francis L. and Gwendolyn E. (Swayze) Scheenen. Survivors of the immediate family include his wife, Pat Scheenen of Grand Island, NE Sons, Eric Parmer of Worland, WY Craig & Amanda Pecor of St. Paul, NE Brian & Ashley Pecor of Grand Island, NE Justin & Aspin Pecor of Greeley, CO One daughter, Amanda Scheenen of Mio, MI Two sisters, Carla Scheenen & Butch Mueller of Mountain Iron, MN Dixie Scheenen of North Platte, NE Grandchildren, Andrew, C.J., Mikayla, Beau, Ayden, Aiden, Aubriyana, Khloe, Jersy, Preston, Kaleb, Aribella, and Damon and numerous nieces and nephews. Kirk grew up in Kimball and Dix, Nebraska, graduating from Dix High School in 1978. He worked in the oil industry as a rig operator for Liberty Well Service, Eatman Oil, Action Oil Service and Key Energy. He married D. Marie Ingleston in 1981 at Cheyenne, WY. They lived in Kimball, NE. He married Pat Goodro on June 21, 1997, at Greeley, CO. They lived in Greeley until moving to Grand Island in 2005 to care for Pats mother. Kirk was a cab driver for Action Cab until becoming disabled. He enjoyed the out of doors, fishing, hunting, camping, riding his Harley motorcycle, karaoke, bowling, golf, Denver Broncos football and playing darts. He was a past member of the Eagles Motorcycle Club, LaSalle, CO and Moose Lodge, Evans, CO. He is preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, Damian, sisters, Francine Scheenen and Lorena Wynne.
