Obituary

Kenneth J. Conner, 69, of Central City, Nebraska, died Sunday, February 14, 2016, at Litzenberg Memorial County Hospital, Long Term Care Unit in Central City, NE Services will be Friday, February 19, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Chapmen, NE. The Rev. Beth Gregory will officiate. Burial will be in the Central City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until service time on Friday at the church. Curran Funeral Chapel in Grand Island, is assisting the family. Ken was born April 8, 1946, in Woodbury, New Jersey. He was the son of Denison D. and Bertha E. (Ericson) Conner. Survivors of the immediate family include his twin brother, Alfred Conner of Central City, NE Aunt, Ruth Conner of Glenvil, NE Cousins and their spouses, Jim and Chris Conner of North Platte, NE Dan and Karen Conner of Omaha, NE Others left to cherish his memory include his guardian, Cleetis Kowalski Miller of Grand Island, NE Ken grew up in Woodbury, NJ, receiving his high school education there. He traveled with his family, while his father served as a Baptisit Minister, living in five different states. He lived in Broken Bow before settling in Central City in 1984. Ken was employed at Goodwill Industries of Grand Island. Ken was a kind, courteous and polite man and was an avid reader especially enjoying How To books. He was a member of the Baptist Church in Chapman. He is preceded in death by his parent, Denison and Bertha Conner. Memorials are suggested to the First Baptist Church in Chapman.
