Obituary

Keith E. Kelly, 80, of Grand Island, NE, died Monday, March 7, 2022, at CHI Health St. Francis in Grand Island. Keith's wish was to be cremated. Keith's life will be celebrated at a later date. Curran Funeral Chapel is assisting the family. Keith was born May 19, 1941, in Emmett, Idaho. He was the son of Oscar J. and Della (Bottorff) Kelly. He was raised in Grand Island, graduating from Grand Island Sr. High School in 1960. He continued his education at Kearney State College. After college he worked for Missouri Valley Construction Co. before joining the team at Northwestern Energy Gas Company. Keith married Kay Sorahan on November 28, 1964, in Grand Island, were they raised their two sons, Brian and Brad. Keith retired from the gas company after 32 years of service. He raised and owned registered Quarter Horses and registered Red Angus cattle. He enjoyed team roping, working at the family farm, bird hunting over a good dog, and his flower garden. His greatest joy was watching his grandchildren's sporting and school activities and time shared with his family. Keith will be missed by his wife of 58 years, Kay Kelly, sons, Brian (Stacy) Kelly, and Brad (Amber) Kelly, all of Grand Island, NE Grandchildren, Morgan Mallory, Claire, Reid, Avery, Kyle, and Kendall Kelly Brother, Larry (Arlene) Kelly of Grand Island, NE Sister, Carmen (Jim) Glines of Grand Island, NE Keith is preceded in death by his parents.
