Erma Jean Kroeger, 88, of Grand Island, NE, died December 8, 2024, at CHI Health St. Francis.  Mass of Christian burial will be Friday, December 13, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Cathedral.  The Rev. Vijaya Prabhakar will be the celebrant.   Interment will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.  Visitation will be Thursday, December 12, 2024, from 4 – 6 p.m. at Curran Funeral Chapel with a Catholic Daughters rosary recited at 4 p.m.  Memorials are suggested to the family for designation at a later date.  Your thoughts and prayers may be given at www.curranfuneralchapel.com under Erma's obituary.  Curran Funeral Chapel is assisting the family.

Erma Jean was born January 5, 1936, in Sargent, NE.  She was the daughter of Rudolf and Ellen (Kamarad) Lorenzen.

Survivors of her immediate family include her son Neil (Wendy) Kroeger of Lincoln, NE

Daughter, Nancy (Brad) O'Connell of Grand Island, NE

Grandchildren, Alex (Sierra) Kroeger, Evan Kroeger, Isabelle Kroeger, Lily Kroeger, Allison (Justin) Kuta, Abby O'Connell.

Great grandchild, Briggs Kroeger.

Erma Jean grew up in Sargent, NE, graduating from Sargent High School in 1954.  She married Kenneth Kroeger on November 14, 1959, in Grand Island, NE.  They made Grand Island their home.  She was employed in the office of St. Francis Hospital and was secretary at St. Mary's Cathedral Rectory but the career she enjoyed most was being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.  Ken died January 9, 2015.

Erma Jean enjoyed time spent with her children and grandchildren.

She was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral, Cathedral Ladies, Funeral Committee, Catholic Daughters of Americas Court Ave Maria #1263, and Kops 605.

Erma Jean is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Kenneth, sister and brother-in-law, Norma (Earl) Yantzie and special cousin, Margaret Howard.
