Elaine M. Trieschman, three days shy of 92, a lifelong resident of "Pollywog Town" in Grand Island, NE died Saturday, May 27, 2017, at Brookefield Park in St. Paul, NE. Elaine's wishes were to be cremated. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, June 8, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Cathedral. The Rev. Thomas A. Ryan will be the celebrant. Burial will be in the Grand Island City Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 7, 2017, from 5 – 7 p.m. at Curran Funeral Chapel with a vigil service at 7:00 p.m. Curran Funeral Chapel is assisting the family.
Elaine was born May 30, 1925, at Grand Island, NE. She was the daughter of Jacob and Mary (Stroh) Dietrich.

Others left to cherish her memory include her 13 grandchildren, and 23 great grandchildren.
Elaine lived all her life on the same two blocks in Grand Island. She attended Dodge Elementary, Barr Jr. High and graduated from Grand Island Sr. High School with the class of 1943. As a young woman she worked at the Grand Island Air Base, where she met her future husband, Arthur F. Trieschman, Jr. They married on February 15, 1947, at St. Mary's Cathedral in Grand Island. The couple lived in Texas and Louisiana while Art played baseball, returning to Grand Island in late 1948. Elaine was a mother and homemaker caring for her children and Art while keeping house. She was blessed with 62 years of marriage shared with Art before his death on August 5, 2009. Elaine loved time spent with her family and friends. She was her sons', grandchildren's and great grandchildren's greatest fan, she treasured watching their sporting events. Elaine loved to dance, laugh, and was quick with a smile. She had a knack for telling stories and always had a kind word about everyone.
Elaine was a 70 year member of St. Mary's Cathedral, was active in Cathedral Ladies, and a church study club for over 50 years. She loved playing cards especially Bridge and Pinochle.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Art, grandson, Bryan Stoltenberg, brother, Jack Dietrich, and sister, Virginia Wilson.
In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to St. Mary's Cathedral's capital campaign.
