Edward John Cyboron, 87, of Grand Island, NE died Tuesday, August 15, 2017, at CHI Health St. Francis, in Grand Island, NE. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, August 18, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Grand Island. The Rev. Martin L. Egging will officiate. Burial will be in West lawn Memorial Park Cemetery with military honors rendered by the United Veterans Honor Guard and the U.S. Marine Honor Team. A rosary will be recited Friday at 8:30 a.m. at the church followed by visitation until service time. Curran Funeral Chapel is assisting the family.
Ed was born July 12, 1930, at Boelus, NE., the son of John and Leona (Czapla) Cyboron.
Survivors of his immediate family include his wife of 65 years, Rose Marie Cyboron of Grand Island, NE
Three daughters and sons-in-law, Diane and Brent McCready of Fayetteville, AR
Judi and Mike Mierau of Grand Island, NE
Pam and Billy Tew of Grand Island, NE
Five grandchildren and their spouses, Krisha and Derek Wilson of Atlanta, GA, Jason Adcock, Jeremy Collins and Heidi Chassells of Fayetteville, AR., Katie and Sam Cutshall, Lincoln, NE and Emily Mierau, Grand Island, NE.
Three Great Granddaughters, Ashton and Addy Wilson, Anastacia Collins and two great grandsons, Dalton Collins and Knox Cutshall.
Ed grew up on the family farm near Boelus, where he received his education and graduated from Boelus High School in 1948. He married Rose Marie Jolkowski on October 27, 1951, at Farwell, NE. They lived and farmed in the Boelus area. Ed joined the U. S. Marines on April 15, 1952. Ed & Rose moved to San Diego, CA where they lived for one year, until he was deployed to Korea. He served on the front lines in the Korean War as a communications specialist and was honorably discharged on March 25, 1954. He and Rose returned to Boelus and continued farming until 1961. They moved to Grand Island, where they lived, worked and raised their family. Ed worked at Sears in the sales department for 13 years. In 1973 he began work at New Holland and worked in the Assembly department before retiring in 1990. In retirement, he worked part-time for House of Lights until 1995.
He was a faithful member of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church from 1961 through August of 2017.
Ed enjoyed fishing, gardening, working on cars, and going to garage sales. He had a wonderful sense of humor and could put a smile on anyone's face. He especially loved time spent with family.
He was a loyal, compassionate and loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. Our hearts are broken but the memories we have will never be forgotten.
Ed, Dad, Grandpa, is now with the Lord-until we meet again dear man.
In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.
Ed was preceded in death by his Parents, great grandson, Tristen Collins, brothers, Stanley, Adolph, John, Ray, Benny, Leonard, and Val Cyboron, and sisters, Elnora Emerson, Mary Ann Plambeck, Barbara Cyboron, and Laura Hansen.
