Dorothy J. Zeleski, 75, of Central City, Nebraska died Thursday, August 8, 2013, at Litzenberg Long Term Care Unit. Services will be Wednesday, August 14, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Michaels Catholic Church. Monsignor Nelson Newman will be the celebrant. Burial will be in the Central City Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 13, 2013, from 5 7 p.m. at St. Michaels Catholic Church with a vigil service at 7:00 p.m. Curran Funeral Chapel is assisting the family. Dorothy was born February 2, 1938, at Greeley, Nebraska. She is the daughter of Mark T. and Elizabeth A. (Barry) Smith. Survivors of the immediate family include four daughters, twins, Tammy Zeleski of Grand Island, NE Mary Zeleski of Grand Island, NE Jennifer Zeleski of Grand Island, NE Christina Zeleski of Grand Island, NE One son, James Jim Zeleski of Grand Island, NE One sister, Elizabeth Betty Costello of Grand Island, NE One brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Agnes Smith of Greeley, NE Others left to cherish her memory include her grandson Michael Zeleski. Dorothy grew up in Greeley, NE, graduating from Sacred Heart School in 1957. She married Ray Zeleski on January 5, 1963, at Greeley, NE. They lived on a farm near Farwell, NE, for a short time, before moving to Chapman, NE and later to Central City. Dorothy was a mother and homemaker. Mr. Zeleski died January 18, 1987. Dorothy was employed and volunteered at the Central City Sr. Center for over 20 years. She enjoyed seeing and visiting all her friends on a daily basis at the center. Dorothy was a wonderful mother, an avid Husker football fan, loving game day. She enjoyed western movies especially John Wayne movies. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ray Zeleski, brothers, Lawrence Fat Smith, John Jack T. Smith, William Billy Smith, sisters, Rose Mary Rosie Dugan and Catherine Smith.
