Doris L. Fishell Grudle, 95, of Central City, NE, formerly of Grand Island, died Sunday, October 26, 2014, at the Central City Care Home. Services will be Thursday, October 30, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. at Curran Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Caroline Price-Gibson will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Cemetery, in Council Bluffs, Iowa with a 3:00 p.m. committal service. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 29, 2014, from 4 – 7 p.m. at the funeral chapel. Curran Funeral Chapel is assisting the family. Doris was born April 25, 1919, at Clearmont, MO. She was the daughter of George and Ola (Hunt) Benthien. Survivors of the immediate family include her son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Connie Fishell of St. Paul, NE. Others left to cherish her memory include her three grandchildren and their spouses, Janet and Jason Logue Terry and Rhonda Fishell Richard and Mary Pat Fishell Her seven great grandchildren, Brian, Beth and Josh Spanjer, Sarah Logue, Briana, Deanna, Cody Fishell. Two great great grandchildren, Hunter and Anna Marie Spanjer. Doris grew up in Clearmont graduating from Clearmont High School in 1937. After high school she married Lawrence Fishell. The couple lived in Clearmont. Doris later married John Grudle on December 29, 1952, in Council Bluffs, IA. The lived in Council Bluffs and Omaha, NE where Doris cared for her family and her home. John died in 1989 at which time Doris moved to Grand Island, living at Chrysalis Lutheran Homes until moving to the Central City Care Center in 2011. Doris enjoyed watching Nascar Races and working with ceramics. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, John Grudle, sisters, Iola Hall and Roma Churchill.
