Donna L. Malone, 84, of Grand Island, NE. died Thursday, July 3, 2014, at Tiffany Square Care Center. Services will be Wednesday, July 9, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. at Curran Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Edgar Schambach Jr. will officiate. Donnas wishes were to be cremated following services. Private inurnment will be at a later date in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Albion, NE. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 8, 2014, from 4 7 p.m. at Curran Funeral Chapel. Donna was born April 23, 1930, in rural Boone County near Albion, NE. She is the daughter of Ernest and Bessie Mae (Clark) Brengelman. Donna married George E. Malone on October 16, 1955, at Albion, NE. George died September 17, 1993. Survivors of the immediate family include three sisters and three brothers-in-law, Vera Thiem of Grand Island, NE Bette and Harold Staub of Waterloo, NE Jeanne and Lanny Young of Albion, NE Paul Bisel of Greeley, CO Brother, Richard and Karen Brengelman of Leawood, KS Sisters-in-law, Doris Brengelman of Albion, NE Betty Brengelman of Waterloo, NE Others left to cherish her memory include numerous nieces and nephews. Donna grew up in Albion and graduated from high school there in 1947. She worked in the nursing profession for 10 years at Newman Grove. She married George E. Malone on October 16, 1955, at Albion, NE. They moved to California for a short time before returning to Nebraska. They lived at Hastings, NE for 35 years. Donna was employed at Cornhusker Press as a press operator for 10 years and later J.M. McDonald for 10 years. She retired in 1992. Donna moved the Grand Island in 1994 after her husbands death. Donna enjoyed playing golf, bowling and playing cards. She is a member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church. Memorials are suggested to St. Pauls Lutheran Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, George, an infant sister, Anna Marie Brengelman, sister, Lois Bisel, brothers, Virgil and Robert, and a brother-in-law, Jerry Thiem.
