Obituary

Diana L. Chism, 67, of Grand Island, Nebraska, died Saturday, February 1, 2014, at Tiffany Square Care Center, surrounded by her family. Services will be Wednesday, February 5, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Marys Cathedral. The Rev. Richard L. Piontkowski Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 4, 2014, from 4 7 p.m. at Curran Funeral Chapel with a vigil service at 7:00 p.m. Curran Funeral Chapel is assisting the family. Diana was born November 20, 1946, at St. Paul, Nebraska. She was the daughter of Robert and Beulah (Keldsen) Roy. Survivors of the immediate family include her husband, Gary Chism of Grand Island, NE Two sons and a daughter-in-law, Paul and Kayleen Lee of Grand Island, NE Rob Lee of Grand Island, NE One daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Scott Reardon of Longmont, CO One step-son, Sean Chism of Gibbon, NE Two brothers and sisters-in-law, David and Diane Roy of Watertown, NY Kenny and Nancy Roy of Dannebrog, NE Two sisters and brothers-in-law, Nancy and Larry Badura of Grand Island, NE Tami and Bryan Herald of Chapman, NE Grandchildren, Kale Stobbe, Ricky Lee, Brooke Lee, Michele Reardon, Brayden Lee Diana grew up attending Loup City Grade School graduating from Ashton High School in 1964. She worked at the Cornhusker Army Ammunition Plant and the Ravenna Egg Plant. On May 28, 1966, she married Dean Lee, at Ashton, NE. They lived in Grand Island where they raised their four children. Mr. Lee died December 14, 1984. Diana was store manager of the Sara Lee Old Home Bread Store in Grand Island. She married Gary Chism on December 15, 1994 at Vermillion, SD. They lived in Grand Island. Diana retired in July of 2011 after 28 years with the Old Home Bread Company. She loved her job and visiting with all the costumers. She loved her grandchildren, watching them grow and attending their school and sporting events. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles, traveling with Gary and frequenting the casinos. She was a member of St. Marys Cathedral, the Cathedral Ladies, Platt-Duetsche and the Saddle Club. She is welcomed into heaven by her parents, her first husband Dean Lee, a son Rick Lee who died in 1991 and a granddaughter, Mercedes Lee. Memorials are suggested to the familys choice.
