DeLoris J. Dugan, 91, of Greeley, NE, died Saturday, September 30, 2023, at Brookefield Park in St. Paul, NE. Mass of Christian burial will be Thursday, October 5, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Greeley, NE. The Rev. Lawrence Vadakkan will be the celebrant assisted by Deacon Neil Baquet. Interment will be in O'Connor Cemetery, O'Connor, NE. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 4, 2023, from 4 – 7 p.m. at the church with a vigil service at 7 p.m. Memorials are suggested to Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was the daughter of Archie H. and Bernice M. (Johansen) Nelson. DeLoris grew up in Elba attending Elba Public School. She married Raymond E. "Rusty" Dugan on March 26, 1951, at the Church of Visitation, in O'Connor, NE. The couple lived for a short time in the rectory of the Church of Visitation. DeLoris helped with the upkeep of the rectory and enjoyed cooking for the priest and Rusty. The couple made their home in Greeley before moving to the family farm. DeLoris loved working on the family farm alongside her husband. She was a devoted homemaker and mother, nurturing her eight children. Often times you could find her chaperoning her daughter's, the Dugan Sisters and later the Country Protégé, to their performances throughout the state. DeLoris was an excellent cook. She loved to bake, especially bread, and was known as "bread baker" for her CB handle on the farm. She enjoyed country music and loved to dance. Rusty died October 6, 2019. DeLoris was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Survivors of her immediate family include her children, Tom of Greeley, NE Joy Dugan of Laird, CO Dolores Ann Dugan of Greeley, NE Tim of Greeley, NE Pat of Lincoln, NE Don of Greeley, NE Terry of Omaha, NE Others left to cherish her memory include 18 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
