Clyde (Clint) was born January 12, 1939 in Burbank, CA to Clyde C.  and Ruby (Sanders) Ganow Sr.  He graduated with the class of 1957 from Grand Island Sr. High School.  He enlisted in the United States Air Force on July 26, 1957.  Clyde started active duty as a Supply Specialist and transferred to the Reserves on July 25, 1961.  On August 1, 1963, he was promoted to Staff Sargent and was Honorably Discharged on July 25, 1966.  Shortly before Clyde's death he was honored for his service with the presentation of the Quilt of Valor, being the 410,759th veteran to receive this honor.  We are so thankful for his dedicated service to our country, so we can enjoy the freedoms we enjoy today.  Clyde married his high school sweetheart Elizabeth "Betty" Dohmen while on leave, November 23, 1957, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Grand Island, NE. To this union seven children were born, Chris, Dave, Joyce, Kathy, Mike, Deb and Matt.  Clyde was a loving husband, father, brother, grandpa and great grandpa.  He was a pillar of strength for all of us and a prayer warrior along with his wife, Betty for his family. He was a hard worker, a good father, friend, and a wonderful story teller.  A humble man and a faithful follower of Jesus Christ.  He will be greatly missed, but we rejoice that he is now with the love of his life, Betty, who passed away Mach 26, 2025.  He so missed her daily companionship.  November 23, 2025 would have been their 68th wedding anniversary.

Clyde was a meat market manager most of his life.  He worked at Hinky Dinky and Bag and Save stores both in Grand Island and York, NE, as well as Grand Central/Super Value in York, NE.  After retiring he went to work for the Grand Island Public Schools for five years.

Survivors of his immediate family include his children, Chris (Sue) Ganow, Dave (Theresa) Ganow, Joyce (Gale) Nunnenkamp, Kathy Ganow, Mike (Jan) Ganow, Deb (Mike) Buchsbaum, Matt (Shannon) Ganow, 19 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, four bonus great grandchildren.  Siblings, Don Ganow, Gay (Phil) Geeson, Sharon (Bill) Horst, John (Kathy) Hickey, Jackie Luth, Kevin (Cathy) Hickey.  Brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ken Vang, Leroy Kramer, Connie (Francis) Hannon, Karen (Bob) Hoover.

Clyde is preceded in death by his wife, Betty, parents, Clyde Ganow Sr., LeRoy and Ruby (Sanders) Ganow Hickey, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Chris and Ann Dohmen, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Phyllis (Vern) Cassell, Marge Vang, Arlene Kramer, Nancy Ganow and infant aunt, Joyce Dohmen.
