Cathy was born September 1, 1943, in Petersburg, NE. She is the daughter of Dennis and Elizabeth (Majerus) Voichahoske. Cathy grew up in Fullerton, NE graduating from Fullerton High School in 1961. She continued her education at St. Francis School of Nursing receiving her RN degree upon finishing the program. Catherine married Riley Osborn on June 12, 1965, in Grand Island, NE. The couple lived and raised their children in New Bloomfield, MO, before moving to Grand Island, NE in 1977. Mr. Osborn died September 4, 1997.
Although her loving husband Riley died almost 30 years ago, Cathy courageously carried him with her, in spirit, for the rest of her life. She led an incredible life including visits to many other countries around the world while remaining present in her ever-growing family. She lived for family dedicating music of her time to her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and in-laws. A person of few words, her impact spoke volumes as she was loved by many. She retired from St. Francis Medical Center where her innate gift of caring permeated all she did. She continued to serve others as a volunteer at the hospital even after retiring. Every life she touched was better for it and through action and deed and her Christian values she taught honesty, generosity, and care. She leaves behind a legacy of what goodness should be.
Cathy was a member of Resurrection Catholic Church; she volunteered at Resurrection and Blessed Sacrament Catholic Churches watching preschoolers during service and assisting with the CCD programs. She volunteered as a leader for both, Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts.
