Carol J. Sparks, 70, of Grand Island, NE, died Saturday, May 6, 2017, at Golden Living Grand Island Lakeview. Carol was cremated. Inurnment will be at a later date in Newport Cemetery, Newport, NE. Carol was born August 23, 1946. She was the adopted daughter of Earl S. and Gladyce L. (Davis) Sparks. Carol grew up in Grand Island, NE graduating from Grand Island Sr. High School in 1964. She was employed at St. Francis Medical Center working in the dietary division and later worked for Goodwill Industries. She collected unicorns accumulating many statues over the years. She was a country music fan, taking in many concerts with her friend Bob Driml and relishing autographs of the entertainers she obtained. Carol's survivors include many cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents, and grandparents, Eslie and Minnie Sparks and Clyde and Phebie Davis. Memorials are suggested to Newport Cemetery Association.
