Cari J. Bykerk, 49, of Grand Island, Nebraska, died Thursday, September 13, 2012, at her home with her family by her side, after a courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer. Caris wishes were to be cremated. Private family services will be at a later date. Curran Funeral Chapel is assisting the family. Cari was born October 3, 1962, in Golden Valley, MN. She was the daughter of Clifford and Dorothy (Giese) Nyland. Survivors of the immediate family include her three sons, Kyle Nyland of Savage, MN Kley McColl of Lonsdale, MN Tanner Werre of Grand Island, NE One daughter, Jessica Bykerk of Grand Island, NE Her mother, Dorothy Nyland of Lakeville, MN Three sisters, Colleen & Jim Elliott of Savage, MN Carol Donnelly of Lakeville, MN Cathy Jensen of Lakeville, MN Others left to cherish her memory include her special friend, Ted Robb of Grand Island, NE One granddaughter, Hazel Ingold, eight nieces and nephews and eight grand nieces and nephews, and her cherished Jack Russell Terrier, Biscuit. Cari grew up in Lakeville, MN and received her education there, graduating in 1980. She lived in South Dakota and Nebraska for the past 30 years. She loved life and lived it to the fullest.
