Obituary

Brian Ray Hainke of Grand Island, Ne. died unexpectedly at his home on Dec 16th 2021. He was born in Smith Center, KS on Feb. 3rd, 1962 the youngest of 3 children born to Robert and Patricia (Miller) Hainke. He grew up in Kensington, Ks., graduating from High School there in 1980. In 1984 he moved to Holdrege Ne. where he was employed at the Holdrege Medical clinic in the Maintenance Dept until starting his own business in commercial cleaning. In 1985 Brian was dedicated and baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. He was united in marriage to Nicole Dewey in 1994 to this union 2 children were born, Aidan and Emily. The family moved and operated their business in Sterling, CO, Broken Bow, NE, and Grand Island, NE. Brian began working at Grand Island public library in 2003 where he worked in the maintenance department until his death. Brian was known as a humble, kind, soft spoken person. He loved the outdoors, enjoyed camping, fishing, music and going on motorcycle trips with his brother. He was a great gardener and loved sharing his abundance of produce with everyone. A highlight of his life was spending time with his children. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by: his parents Robert and Patricia Hainke; sister-in-law Grace Hainke; his grandparents Rex and Bessie Bierman and Hugh and Ruth Miller. Survivors include: his son Aidan and daughter Emily of Hutchison, KS.; his brothers Gary and his wife Elizabeth of Kensington KS, Rod and his wife Linda of Holdrege NE.; his nieces Nicole Benischek and her husband Adam of Malcolm, NE, Leslie Brown and her husband Garrett of Luray, KS, Natalie Knipp and her husband Chuck of Palco, KS.; along with several great nieces and nephews. Brian's life will be celebrated January 8, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. via Zoom. Private family inurnment will be in the Olive Branch Cemetery in Kensington, KS. Information regarding the celebration will be posted on Brian's obituary page at www.curranfuneralchapel.com. You are encouraged to sign his guest book on the website as well.
