Blanche L. Janulewicz, 100, of Grand Island, NE, died Wednesday, August 08, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, August 13, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. The Rev. Martin L. Egging will be the celebrant. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, August 12, 2018, from 4 – 6 p.m. at the church with a vigil service at 6:00 p.m. Curran Funeral Chapel is assisting the family. Blanche was born February 10, 1918, in Sherman County to Edward and Cecelia (Dzingle) Stanczyk. Those left to cherish her memory include her three sons and two daughters, Ron (Pat) of Grand Island, NE Loren (Bobbie) of Denver, CO Marilyn (Brad) Menke of Grand Island, NE David of Westminster, CO Karen Janulewicz of Aurora, CO Others left to cherish her memory include her five grandchildren, one step grandchild, eight great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren with three on the way. Blanche grew up in Sherman County and received her education there. She married Harry Janulewicz on June 20, 1939 in Loup City, NE. They lived in Grand Island from 1941 to 1963 when they moved to Omaha, returning to Grand Island in 1967. She was a homemaker and enjoyed her children, grandchildren. She was employed in ladies ready to wear in both Omaha and Grand Island. She was an excellent seamstress and also knitted and crocheted. Her husband Harry died April 15, 1995. Blanche was a charter member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and Catholic Daughters of Americas Court Queen of Peace #2227. The UTU Ladies Auxiliary and Union Pacific Employee Club #16, and the National Association of Retired Railway Employees. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry, sisters, Cashmere Jonak, Bernice Gizinski, Ilene Stanczyk, infant sister, Gertrude, grandson, Rob Janulewicz, great great granddaughter, Nova and her best friend Evaline Davis. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Blanche's memory or to the family's choice.
