Blaise R. Roy, 48, of Lincoln, NE died Wednesday, September 24, 2014, in Lincoln. Services will be Tuesday, September 30, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. at Curran Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Christopher Morris will officiate. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Curran Funeral Chapel is assisting the family. More details will appear later. Blaise was born October 22, 1965, at Grand Island, NE. He was the son of Martin A. and Jeanne (Furniss) Roy. Survivors of the immediate family include his brothers and sisters-in-law, Tim and Barb Roy of Omaha, NE Matthew and Mary Roy of Auburn, WA Joseph and Mary Roy of Omaha, NE Sisters and brothers-in-law, Anne and Steve Coffey of Grand Island, NE Jennifer and Randy Volkmer of Kearney, NE Mary and Craig Batten of Cedar Park, TX Many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and a grandnephew. Blaise grew up in Grand Island, graduating from Grand Island Central Catholic and continued his education, as a Regents Scholar at UNL graduating Magna Cum Laude. He was an active member of the Orthodox Church, participating as a Cantor. He was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Jeanne Roy.
