Obituary

Barbara K. (Dugan) McIntyre, 71, of Greeley, NE, died Friday, March 29, 2024, at Bryan Medical Center East in Lincoln, NE surrounded by her loving family. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, April 6, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Greeley, NE. The Rev. Lawrence Vadakkan will be the celebrant. Interment will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Greeley, NE. Visitation will be Friday, April 5, 2024, from 5 – 7 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with a vigil service at 7 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the family for designation at a later date. Barb was born October 21, 1952, in St. Paul, NE. She was the daughter of Marvin William "Bill" and Mary Eileen (Stark) Dugan. Barb grew up in Greeley attending Sacred Heart School and graduated from Greeley Public School in 1970. After high school she attended Sara Rob Beauty College in Grand Island, NE. Barb married Timothy J. McIntyre on June 3, 1972, at O'Connor Church of the Visitation. The couple made their home in Wolbach and later moved to Greeley. She worked as a Cosmetologist for several years. Following her Cosmetology career, she was a homemaker raising their three children and helped on the family farm. Barb always made sure the horse trailer was packed and the horses washed as she hauled her kids to horse shows, rodeos, and the rodeo queen trail. She later started a career at Sears as an appliance sales associate and won awards for top sales associate. Barb was always a welcoming friend to everyone, and you never left her home hungry. She enjoyed springtime when the foals and the baby calves were being born and making ear tags for the calves. Barb loved to travel whenever possible and enjoyed trips to Hawaii, Aruba, Cayman Islands, Phoenix, and San Diego with Hawaii being her favorite. You could always find Barb doing what she loved most, supporting her children and grandchildren at their school, sporting, and rodeo events. She was their number one fan! Barb had the patience of a saint and was a wonderful caregiver to her brother, Billy, sister Jane, and her parents. She had a servant's heart and truly loved helping others; she will be missed. Barb was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Catholic Daughters of Americas Court Our Lady of Good Counsel #2039. Barb will be missed by her husband of 51 years, Tim McIntyre of Greeley, NE. Son, Monte and Michelle McIntyre of Hastings, NE and their children, Terran and Tate. Daughter, Mindy and Chad Grossart of Wolbach, NE and their children, Cade, Colby, Cohen, and Cayle. Son, Jeremy and Karen McIntyre of Grand Island, NE and their children, Reagan, Emerson, Truett, and Easton. Brother-in-law, Dan and Barb McIntyre of St. Paul, NE. Sister-in-law, Sandra McIntyre of St. Paul, NE. Sister-in-law, Sarah Dugan of Elizabeth, CO. Numerous nieces and nephews. Barb is preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Mary Dugan, brothers, Billy and Gary, and sister, Jane (Dugan) McIntyre, in-laws, Oren and Mary McIntyre, brother-in-law, Michael McIntyre, sister-in-law, Colleen and Gerald Killinger, and nephew, John McIntyre.
