Arnette Wenzl Kalin Capaldo, 94, of Grand Island, NE. died Thursday, March 3, 2016, at Mary Lanning Healthcare in Hastings, NE. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, March 7, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. The Rev. Todd K. Philipsen will be celebrating the mass. Burial will be in St. Anthonys Cemetery, in Steinauer, NE with a 3:30 p.m. committal service. Visitation will be Sunday, March 6, 2016, from 4 - 7 p.m. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with a vigil service at 7:00 p.m. Curran Funeral Chapel is assisting the family.
Arnette was born November 25, 1921, at Dubois, Nebraska. She was the daughter of Grant F. and Nellie (Hayward) Kerl.
Survivors of her immediate family include her sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Jean Wenzl of Grand Island, NE

Others left to cherish her memory include her nine grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.
Arnette grew up in Dubois, NE attending country school there. She graduated from Pawnee City High School in 1939. She worked at Pawnee City Hospital as a Nurses Aide. In February of 1943 she married Leonard Wenzl in Steinauer, NE. Arnette cared for her three sons and helped on the family farm. Leonard died November 25, 1952, at which time she began working at the Bank of Steinauer. On May 24, 1955 she married Francis Kalin in Steinauer, NE. They moved to Pawnee City where she worked as a Nurses Aide. The family moved to Grand Island in 1957. Arnette worked at St. Francis Medical Center as a Nurses Aide. Francis died December 21, 1986. Anette met Anthony Tony Capaldo and married him on August 24, 1991 in Grand Island where they made their home. Tony died May 23, 2007.
Arnette loved being with her family especially the time she shared with her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling, visiting all 50 states in her lifetime. She was an avid reader and enjoyed playing bingo.
She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters Court Queen of Peace #2227, and was active in church quilting group and the Prime Time Club.
In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church or Grand Island Central Catholic Foundation.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Leonard Wenzl, Francis Kalin, Tony Capaldo, and brothers, Howard and Gene Kerl.
